Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian – Investigation: C24-213428

On September 13, 2024, at approximately 7:39 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred at the corner of Portage Avenue and Bedson Street.

Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended to a pedestrian who had succumbed to their injuries. Three additional patients were transported to the hospital, all currently listed as stable.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the Ford F150 was traveling eastbound on Portage Avenue, near Bedson Street, when it collided with a pedestrian and a bus shelter. A secondary vehicle, hydro pole, and gas station were also damaged during the incident.
