The Armed Forces celebrated the 112th anniversary of their establishment and the 80th anniversary of the country's Liberation at a ceremony in the "Skënderbej" Square in the capital.
Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, Deputy Ministers Dorian Tola and Enkelejd Joti, Chief of the General Staff General Lieutenant Arben Kingji, and other officials attended the event. In his speech, Minister Vengu emphasized that the creation of the Albanian National Army just six days after Independence was a foundational act for modern Albania, linking defense and security to the nation's sovereignty.
He acknowledged the progress made over the last decade in strengthening and modernizing the Armed Forces and expressed gratitude to the allies and partners who supported this process. General Lieutenant Kingji highlighted the commitment and professionalism of the Armed Forces throughout their history, ensuring they continue to evolve to meet operational needs.
The ceremony concluded with a ceremonial march by the Armed Forces' band and a meeting with the families of military personnel and high school students.
