Each month in 2024, USGBC will share a handpicked education course or two about a specific aspect of green building that will be free for that month only. For the month of July, take advantage of a free course on managing water and waste.

Sustainably Managing Water and Waste: Stormwater Treatment and Green Restroom Facilities

Basic level | 1 CE credit | USGBC Colorado | Webinar format

This virtual tour showcases the City of Aspen's stormwater system in the John Denver Sanctuary, located along the Roaring Fork River in Rio Grande Park, Colorado, highlighting how runoff can be managed by integrating built and natural systems. Also featured is the park's innovative restroom facilities. Built with rocks evacuated from the site, the restrooms house compostable toilets and were designed with energy savings in mind.
