Open House Planned on Proposed South Fourth Street TIF District

The City of DeKalb has planned an open house on the proposed South Fourth Street Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District. The public is invited to this informal open house on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Huntley Middle School, 1515 S. Fourth Street, in the Main Lobby (Door 32).

An informational meeting in a public format was held at the DeKalb City Council meeting on August 26, 2024, and many of those in attendance expressed an interest in a less formal opportunity to ask questions about TIF in general, and the impact it might have on their properties, as well as the S. Fourth Street corridor.

City staff members will be on hand at the open house to answer questions and to welcome comments. A variety of information will be on easels and in handouts to stimulate questions and answers.

More information on the proposed TIF District can be found here.
