UW’s Wyoming Dementia Together Schedules Programs Through December

Wyoming Dementia Together (WDT), a statewide nonprofit caregiver network offered through the University of Wyoming's Wyoming Center on Aging (WyCOA), will offer a variety of informative discussions focused on dementia care through December.

Legal issues, financial considerations, behavioral changes and family advocacy in the health care system are among the 11 topics to be covered by WDT during the second half of 2024.

WDT includes dementia care professionals, licensed clinical social workers, physical and occupational therapists, and caregivers themselves. WDT began meeting in fall 2020 and has since been offering online programming assistance.

WDT meets by Zoom call every other Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. throughout the year. Programs feature guest speakers and allow time for interaction from those who attend online. Preregistration is required; the Zoom link to each program will be provided by email.

WDT programs featured through the end of the year are titled "Where My Values Lie as a Caregiver," July 31; "Care Partner Resiliency: Self-Care and Nurturing," Aug. 14; "Palliative Care: What, When and How," Aug. 28; "Family Advocacy in Our Health Care System," Sept. 11; "Dementia Care: Family Dynamics and Communication," Sept. 25; "Legal and Financial Considerations in Dementia," Oct. 9; "The 3Ds: Dementia, Delirium and Depression," Oct. 23; "Behavioral Challenges: Responding to Distress in Dementia," Nov. 6; "Peace, Love and Joy in the Holiday Season: Part One," Nov. 20; "Peace, Love and Joy in the Holiday Season: Part Two," Dec. 4; and "Our Gift to You: Ask the Professional Support Team," Dec. 18.
