Starting Monday, September 16, both lanes of Bagby Avenue from Sunnydell Avenue to Richter Avenue will be closed through Friday, September 20. Message boards are posted to notify drivers of the detour route for through traffic.

Knife River, the City of Waco contractors, requested the full closure to expedite construction, increase safety of the public and the construction crews, and to provide a better end product for the City of Waco and its residents.

Other Progress

Otherwise, construction on Bagby Avenue continues to make great progress! So far, more than 60% of the water and sanitary sewer replacements are complete along with the concrete pavement at the Irving Lee intersection near H-E-B. City of Waco Public Works prioritized the short stretch from Valley Mills Drive to Irving Lee to minimize the disruption for shoppers at H-E-B and nearby stores.

Once complete, Bagby Avenue will include new utilities, sidewalks, and drainage infrastructure. Thank you for your patience as we work to update and improve Waco's roads!
