Government urges to avoid escalation in the Middle East

Following the recent Israeli attacks on Iran, the Government of Spain calls for restraint on all sides and reiterates its call to stop the escalation and halt the increase in violence, which seriously endanger the stability of the Middle East.

It is necessary and urgent to put an end to the crisis in the Middle East with an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, massive aid to address the humanitarian catastrophe, the release of hostages, as well as strict compliance with International Law and International Humanitarian Law. Only a diplomatic solution can restore stability to the region.

Spain remains committed to restoring stability in order to open the way to peace, and will continue to work towards this goal with its partn​ers.
