55-hour Closures Scheduled for Chiles Road to Interstate 80 Causeway

Yolo County - Caltrans is reminding motorists of continuing nightly construction work for the Yolo Interstate 80 (I-80) Pavement Rehabilitation Project this weekend on Friday, August 2.

Construction continues this weekend with a 55-hour closure for the eastbound Chiles Road on- and off-ramps and for east- and westbound intermittent lane closures.

Caltrans urges motorists to plan for additional travel time and to expect delays.

Scheduled Closures and Locations:

• Eastbound lanes on I-80 and eastbound US-50 at Enterprise Boulevard to Pioneer Bridge will be reduced to one or two lanes for rebar and pavement work from 10 p.m. Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. Monday, August 5.
• Enterprise, Harbor and Jefferson Boulevards on- and offramps to eastbound and westbound US- 50 and the eastbound I-80 connector will be intermittently closed from 10 p.m. Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. Monday, August 5.
• The westbound I-80 to the eastbound US-50 connector, will be intermittently closed from 10 p.m. Friday, August 2 until 5 a.m. Monday, August 5.

The work zone is from the Yolo Causeway through West Sacramento on Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 50. The $280 million project includes $47 million from Senate Bill (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour 24/7 for the safety of workers and motorists.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather conditions, availability of equipment and/or materials, and construction-related issues. The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers' safety.

The Yolo Fruit Stand located at 46710 County Road 32b; East of Davis will remain open for business from 8:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. Monday-Sunday during construction.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11.

Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
