Bulgaria Air regularly organizes Open Days, which are attended by many young people who are interested in the aviation profession. The latest initiative of the national carrier, presenting career development opportunities, was held on 30 September and welcomed many attendees.

Working in the clouds and having the most beautiful view in the world is a dream come true. This is what Commander Rositsa Ivanova, pilot of Bulgaria Air, and Dana Prikhova, senior flight attendant and cabin crew director at the airline, told BTA in an interview. They give some advice to the young people who have set their eyes in the sky, dreaming of a pilot's or cabin crew's profession - to be strong, motivated and follow their dreams.

"I am delighted with the turnout of all the aspiring pilots and future cabin crew who came to the Open Day. Over the last year Bulgaria Air has been renewing its fleet of aircraft. This is the reason why we are looking for new people to join our team. New young and motivated pilots and cabin crew to be part of our team and work together", Commander Ivanova told about her meeting with the prospective pilots.

Commander Ivanova also talked about how a pilot's working day at the airline goes. "We certainly have the most beautiful view. To see the sunrise, the sunset, the snow-capped mountains, the stars at night - there is no such view anywhere else," the pilot said.

No less interesting and responsible is the job of the cabin crew. "A cabin crew day goes by incredibly dynamic, exciting, fast, with lots of socializing and people smiling. Sometimes it is not so predictable, but that is part of the charm of the profession. For most of my colleagues who love aviation, the time spent on a plane in the air is exciting," Dana Prikhova - senior flight attendant and cabin crew director at the airline, said.

"We, as a national carrier, are constantly on the lookout for young, motivated, ambitious people who are eager to become part of our staff. The most common questions are very abstract. They are excited about the type of work, a typical day of a flight attendant or steward/ess. The regular things like working hours, rest periods, the way of licensing, which I inevitably communicate to them because it is non-standard, non-typical and time-consuming. What requirements we have and what they will get in return," Dana Prikhova said.
