Molina Engages Behavioral Health Professionals at Annual Conference

09/24/2024

Molina Healthcare of Florida sponsored the Florida Behavioral Health Association's (FBHA) 2024 conference. This year's event, attended by over 1,800 participants, was themed, "IGNITE". FBHA said it wanted to create a space for "ideas to catch fire, innovation to flourish, and collaboration to fuel the future".

The conference offered workshops on adult and children's mental health, clinical therapy, criminal justice, information technology, prevention and recovery, and more. Keynote speakers included Sebastian Terry, an expert in mental health and positive mindset, Chris and Martha Thomas who focused on suicide prevention, and Jimmy Yeary who shared skills for being more effective as a team serving others.

Molina's participation in the conference aligns with its many initiatives to address mental health and substance use disorders. Earlier this year, Molina announced a partnership with BeMe Health, which created a behavioral health app designed to help teenagers manage their mental health. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness ("NAMI"), 180,000 Floridians ages 12 to 17 have depression. NAMI data shows 64% of those adolescents did not receive any care in the last year.
