48 Year-Old Male Arrested For Nonfatal Shooting on Fernboro Street in Dorchester

At about 8:03 AM, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 28 Fernboro Street for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. As of this afternoon, the victim's condition has been upgraded and he is expected to live.

After further investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Carlos Encarnacion, 48, of Dorchester. The suspect was located in Framingham and was placed under arrest and charged with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on Thursday morning.
