HONOLULU, Aug. 27, 2024 - Hawaiian Electric crews will upgrade utility equipment this week in the following areas, impacting traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. as follows:

• Wednesday, Aug. 28, and Friday, Aug. 30, Makaloa Street (Ala Moana)
  Crews will replace equipment at the Makaloa Substation, closing a section of the westbound lane of Makaloa Street between Amana and Keeaumoku streets with traffic detoured to Amana. Metered stalls in the work zone also will be restricted.

• As part of pre-work, Haupu Place at N. School will be closed to vehicular traffic (except emergency vehicles) on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Affected residents have been notified.

Safety signs and traffic cones will alert the public of the lane closures and flagmen will direct motorists who are advised to use alternate routes or expect traffic delays.
