The AHS Index is a new way to look at data that illuminates a snapshot of our world today. It is intended to highlight health inequities and spark conversation, debate, outrage, and wonder.

Number of emergency room visits provided across Alameda Health System's (AHS') hospitals, including at John George Psychiatric Hospital, in fiscal year 2024: 105,145

Number of outpatient clinic visits, as well as telehealth appointments, provided by AHS staff in fiscal year 2024: 409,492

Number of surgeries performed: 8,957

Number of babies delivered: 1,557

Percent increase in pediatric well-child visits for African American children at AHS, an improvement so significant that AHS' pediatrics department won a Quality Leaders Award from the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems: 100%

Gallons of ice cream served to St. Rose Hospital employees to celebrate the hospital's affiliation with AHS in October: 21

Number of hours that 239 volunteers, who spoke 33 different languages, spent donating their time to AHS in fiscal year 2024: 25,428

Number of community events AHS attended, providing information and educational opportunities to the community, so far in 2024: 55

Number of families helped by AHS' Hope for the Holidays gift card giveaway: >100
