It is my pleasure to announce the two new national spokespersons for the Democratic Alliance (DA): Karabo Khakhau MP and Willie Aucamp MP.

As we embark on our preparations for the 2026 local government elections, Karabo and Willie will be the public voice of our party, ensuring that our message resonates across South Africa. We have full confidence in their abilities and dedication to serve in this pivotal role.

They succeed Solly Malatsi and Werner Horn, who have both taken on new responsibilities. Solly Malatsi is now the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies in the Government of National Unity (GNU), and Werner Horn has been recently elected as the House Chair in the National Assembly. We extend our gratitude to Solly and Werner for their exemplary service and wish them the best in their new roles.

Karabo Khakhau is serving her second term in the National Assembly, representing the Democratic Alliance Free State. Notably, in 2019, she became South Africa's youngest Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL). She served in the Free State Legislature until November 2022, when she took her oath in the National Assembly. Karabo's leadership journey began as the 2017/18 SRC President of the University of Cape Town, and she has held significant roles within the DA Students Organisation (DASO).

Willie Aucamp has been an active member of the DA since 2009 and a Member of Parliament since 2019. Before his parliamentary tenure, Willie served as a Ward Councillor in Kuruman and held various leadership roles, including Chairperson for Community Services. In Parliament, he has contributed to several committees, such as the Select Committees of Finance and Appropriations, the Constitutional Review Committee, and the Magistrates Commission. Since 2018, Willie has been a member of the DA's Provincial Executive Committee in the Northern Cape and the DA's Federal Council since 2019. Recently elected as a Whip in the National Assembly, he brings a wealth of experience from his background in law, farming, and business to his parliamentary duties.

We are excited about the energy and perspectives that Karabo and Willie will bring to their new roles. Their diverse experiences and commitment to the DA's values will be instrumental as we move forward. We trust they will excel in representing our party and the aspirations of South Africans.
