Barricaded Suspect Arrested After Standoff

Pueblo, CO- On August 29, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Pueblo Police Department received a call of a burglary in progress in the area of the 1200 block of West Street.

Officers arrived on scene and removed one male, later identified as Justin Arellano, 24, from the residence. Another male closed the front door on police. The second suspect in the residence was identified as Carlos Rivera, 25. Attempts to gain compliance from the suspect were initially unsuccessful. However, ultimately the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.

Rivera was arrested on warrants for Failure to Comply-Drugs, Failure to Comply-Community Corrections, and Restraining Order Violation. The homeowner refused to press charges against the suspects.
