Miami-Dade School Board Approves 2024-2025 Budget

The Miami-Dade County School Board approved a budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year last night that increases funding for mental health, services to students with disabilities, post-secondary education and bolsters security to ensure that students have a safe learning environment. The approved budget does this while maintaining among the lowest millage rate in over 40 years.

"This budget looks toward the future. It protects what we cherish the most while providing opportunity for innovation," said School Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres. "This budget shows a commitment to provide an excellent education while being responsible stewards of taxpayer funds."

The $7.4 billion approved budget focuses on workforce, post-secondary education and increased funding for early childhood education. For the 2024 - 2025 fiscal year, this budget maintains the millage rate at 6.699.
