Homicide Investigation in Mission Area

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left one person dead.

On Friday, November 29, 2024, around 11:15 p.m., Mission Area officers responded to the 10400 block of Sepulveda Boulevard for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon investigation. Upon the officer's arrival, they observed a male victim being treated by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. The male victim had suffered a single gunshot wound to the lower torso.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where, despite lifesaving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Detectives canvassed the scene for witnesses and video evidence. The investigation revealed that a lone male suspect walked up to the victim in the rear parking lot of this retail location. The lone male suspect shot the male victim and fled the area. The suspect is outstanding.

The victim's identifying information is being withheld, pending next of kin notification
