Fish passage modifications on SR 546 near Northwood Road in Lynden begin July 15

During construction, travelers should expect a 5-day full closure of SR 546

LYNDEN - Travelers along should expect to see construction activities on State Route 546, near Northwood Road in Lynden, due to modifications to the Kamm Ditch fish passage project, scheduled to begin on at 8 a.m. Monday, July 15.

Travelers should expect single lane closures through the duration of the project followed by a five-day full road closure of SR 546 from 5 p.m. Sunday, July 21 until 5 a.m. Friday, July 26. Then single lane closures will continue through the end of July. Construction is expected to conclude in advance of the Northwest Washington Fair.

This project will make modifications to the wing walls of the fish passage structure that runs under SR 546, which gained an estimated 3,094-feet of habit for native species of fish, like trout and salmon, to navigate the creek more easily.
