NNO is a drug and crime prevention event celebrated annually to strengthen police-community partnerships and promote awareness, safety, and unity in our neighborhoods.

Citizens are encouraged to celebrate National Night Out by organizing neighborhood events such as block parties and cookouts. Citizens can also participate by turning on porch lights between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

A National Night Out kick-off celebration will take place on Tuesday, October 1, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Academy Sports & Outdoor Store parking lot, 5001 S. Padre Island Drive. The event will include a proclamation reading by Mayor Paulette Guajardo and remarks by Police Chief Mike Markle.
