Scott has been recognised as 1 of only 51 fellows outside the US and the only Australian fellow, for his exceptional contributions to the restructuring and insolvency profession. Current fellows from Norton Rose Fulbright's US restructuring team include restructuring partner, Howard Seife, US co-heads of restructuring, Jason Boland and Ryan Manns, and of counsel William Greendyke.
Scott has one of the most reputable restructuring and insolvency practices in Asia-Pacific, acting on both inbound engagements in Australia and advising clients on outbound engagements in jurisdictions including the US, the UK, the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Nauru and the Netherlands. Scott also leads capacity building, policy development and reconstruction projects across a broad range of countries, including the developing economies throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
This recognition builds on Scott's successful three-year term as president of INSOL International, the peak global restructuring and insolvency professional organisation. Scott has led the design and implementation of INSOL's 2030 Strategic Plan, which seeks to drive change and transformation across both INSOL and the broader insolvency ecosystem.
Scott was also recently awarded Life Membership of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association, Australia's restructuring and insolvency professional association.
The American College of Bankruptcy is an honorary association of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals and plays an important role in sustaining professional excellence in the field. College fellows include business and consumer bankruptcy attorneys, judges and other governmental officials, corporate turnaround specialists, accountants, financial advisors, academics and others in the bankruptcy and insolvency community around the world.
The induction ceremony in honour of the new fellows will take place at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC in March 2025.
