Detectives Working to Identify Body of Man Found Sunday in River

Detectives are working to identify the body of a man recovered Sunday from the Whites Creek area of the Cumberland River off County Hospital Road.

A father and son in a boat fishing discovered the body and called 911. The deceased is a black man who appeared to be in his 30s to 40s. An initial examination of the body showed no obvious signs of trauma.

The investigation is continuing.
