South Half of Lincoln Way and Franklin Avenue Intersection to Close Monday

AMES, Iowa - The south half of the Lincoln Way and Franklin Avenue intersection will be closed for pavement removal and replacement on Monday, Aug. 5. The closure is anticipated to last one week.

Sidewalks and ramps for the east-west crosswalks will remain open. The north-south crosswalks and ramps will be closed.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible. The work zone will have low speeds and narrow lanes. Allow extra travel time as delays will occur. Bicyclists and pedestrians should use the signed detour route.

The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct for the reconstruction of Lincoln Way from Beedle Drive to Franklin Avenue and is now beginning stage four of this project. The project also includes spot improvements to utilities and reconstruction of the shared-use path on the south side of Lincoln Way.
