Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash town of Brookfield

On July 23, 2024, at about 3:48 p.m., State Police responded to NY-8 in the town of Brookfield for a two-vehicle head-on collision.

The preliminary investigation has determined that Dominick E. Brown, 44, from New Berlin, was driving a blue 2004 GMC Sierra pickup southbound on NY-8 when he crossed over the double yellow onto the opposite lane, striking a black 2007 Hyundai Sante Fe driven by Nancy F. Simon, 63, from Leonardsville, NY.

Dominick E. Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted to determine an official cause of death.

Nancy F. Simon was airlifted to Upstate University in critical condition with internal injuries to her lower extremities.

The investigation is continuing.
