Israel/Yemen: Statement by the Spokesperson on the attack in Tel Aviv

The European Union strongly condemns the indiscriminate Houthi-claimed drone attack on Tel Aviv early on Friday morning. We offer our condolences to the family of the victim and a speedy recovery to those injured.

The EU reiterates its commitment to the right of Israeli people to live in security, and the EU continued support to contribute to the security of the region.

The EU calls on all parties to exercise restraint. No one stands to gain from further regional escalation.

International Humanitarian Law strictly prohibits indiscriminate shelling of civilian population centres, and applies to all actors at all times without exception.
