Investigation Update: BPD Fugitive Unit Arrests Murder Suspect Following Fatal Shooting in Dorchester

Investigation Update: At about 12:06 PM, on Monday, September 9th, 2024, Members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested Manuel Guerrero, 18, of Dorchester, at 1758 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester.

Manuel Guerrero was taken into custody by virtue of an outstanding warrant for his arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charges of Murder, Home Invasion, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Assault to Murder Firearm-Armed.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 6:42 PM, on Monday, August 12th, 2024, Officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a report of two people shot inside of 5 Trent St, Dorchester. Upon arrival, they located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were treated on-scene and transported to a local hospital, where one victim was pronounced deceased and the other was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The deceased male victim was identified as Leudis Mejia Sanchez, 49, of Dorchester.
