Jones Named Franklin County’s September Employee Of The Month

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the September 2024 Employee of the Month award to Samuel Jones during the board's Sept. 25 public meeting. Jones has been employed by Franklin County since July 2017 and serves as a sheriff corporal in the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

September's Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received 22 nominations for the September award, five of which were for Jones.

"Samuel Jones shows enthusiasm for his position every day," said one nomination. "He takes care of his subordinates by ensuring they are happy at work and trained for the job. He keeps the security schedule up to date and correct. Samuel ensures the security division is up to date with all current threats. He ensures the security sections process all the required material to carry out their jobs correctly. He ensures that all duty stations are properly staffed and constantly ensures that all security stations process the proper gear to complete their job. … If you need anything, Sam will do all that he can to help."

Jones's outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. He is described as having leadership skills, flexibility, being consistent and being sensible.

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated Jones on his recognition and thanked him for his excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of knowledge, leadership and excellence to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
