Major: Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I am currently earning a master's in counseling psychology, with an emphasis on children and family.

Why did you choose to attend Frostburg State University?

I chose to attend Frostburg for a few reasons. My brother is an alum of Frostburg and spoke very highly of his time at FSU. I also chose Frostburg because I was able to play lacrosse. The university also had the benefit of having affordable tuition as well as being not too far from home.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

During undergrad, I played lacrosse for Frostburg's Women's Lacrosse team. When I graduated and started my master's program I became a volunteer assistant for the team. I also work as a Graduate Assistant for the Alumni Office. I was also a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and was an undergraduate learning assistant for the psychology department.

What is your favorite memory as a student?

My favorite memory as a student would be going to homecoming football games! I always love being in the crowd and showing my bobcat pride.

Which faculty and/or staff member has influenced you as a student?

Dr. Kim James has been very influential for me throughout my academic career at FSU. She has been an amazing professional resource for working with children and families in a therapeutic setting.

What advice would you give to a student currently studying your major?

Research all your possible career paths! Talk to all your professors and learn their academic stories! The information is incredibly helpful in determining your post-grad plan.

Tell us about a class or activity at FSU that has had a surprising effect on your life.

I was greatly impacted by my undergraduate internship. I had the opportunity to work in an elementary school and help teach guidance lessons. The experience cemented my passion for working with children.

What is a cause dear to your heart?

Young girls having access to youth sports is very important to me. I believe that every young girl should have the opportunity to learn the joy of being an athlete.

What do you do for fun?

I love to crochet! I learned how to this past year and I have become obsessed. It is a great way to relax from school!

What three words can you use to describe FSU?

The three words I would use to describe FSU are Beautiful, Fun, and Welcoming.
