Lane Changes to Occur on the Three Degree Road Intersection Project in Butler County

​Indiana, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing lane changes to the new pavement as the Three Degree Road Intersection Project moves forward in Middlesex and Adams Townships, Butler County.

September 23 through 28, 2024 between 8 PM and 6 AM nightly, flaggers will be used to facilitate temporary and permanent paving, traffic signal adjustments, the installation of temporary barrier, driveway adjustments, shoulder backup and line painting in preparation for moving traffic to the new pavement on Route 228.

Traffic signals at Helenz Way, Three Degree Road and Robert Williams Drive will be set to flashing yellow while flaggers and police control traffic. Work will occur nightly 8 PM to 6 AM except for Saturday morning which may extend until 9 AM if needed.

The safety improvement project includes through lanes, turn lanes, side road improvements, the addition of service roads for access control, drainage and guide rail upgrades, signal replacement, signage and pavement markings, sidewalks, ADA ramps, and a roundabout.

Contractor, Independence Excavating, Inc. of Independence, OH will be completing this $55.8 million with a projected completion date in November 2026.
