Norton Rose Fulbright advises UOB Kay Hian on sole sponsorship of Metasurface Technologies’ listing on Hong Kong GEM Board

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised UOB Kay Hian on its sole sponsorship of Metasurface Technologies listing on the GEM Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX).

Singapore-based Metasurface Technologies is a build-to-print precision engineering service provider which specializes in complex machining and welding services for international companies in the semiconductor and other sectors, ranked fifth in terms of revenue from the semiconductor segment of the precision component engineering industry in Singapore in 2023.

The Metasurface Technologies' IPO marks the second successful listing following the implementation of Hong Kong GEM reforms on 1 January 2024.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team was co-led by partners Winnie Chan and Harold Tin. They were supported by senior associates Tracy Ding and Jane Yau, as well as associate Michelle Leung.

Winnie Chan commented: "We supported the team at UOB Kay Hian throughout the sole sponsorship of Matasurface Technologies and worked in conjunction with multiple cross border teams in advising Metasurface Technologies to achieve a result that all parties were happy with. HKEX's GEM Board offers businesses of small to medium size the opportunity to list and - with reforms having taken effect from 1st January 2024 - it is expected that the GEM Board will see an increase in applications, as it poses an attractive offering to high-growth companies and SMEs."
