CABEI supports forum on port modernization to boost regional development

Panama City, September 12, 2024. The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) positioned itself as a key player at the 9th Latin American Ports Forum, held in Panama City on September 11 and 12. This annual meeting, which brings together the main players in the region's port, maritime, and logistics sector, served as an ideal scenario for analyzing the latest trends and opportunities in the sector.

During the event, the multilateral participated in two highly relevant panels. The first, dedicated to the financing of the port and logistics sector, focused on current investment needs, innovations in financial models and the fundamental role of multilateral organizations such as CABEI. In addition, the effects of mergers and procurements on the dynamics of the sector were analyzed.

The second panel, focused on port modernization in Central America and regional integration, explored how investments in port infrastructure are driving economic growth and competitiveness in the region. Opportunities to develop world-class logistics hubs and strengthen commercial ties with the U.S. market were highlighted.

CABEI's participation in this forum reaffirms its commitment to economic integration and sustainable development in the region. The event was consolidated as a space for dialogue and collaboration to chart the future of the port sector and explore new investment opportunities.
