DLA Land and Maritime chief of staff frocked to colonel

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Chief of Staff Alexander Constantine was frocked to the rank of colonel during a ceremony at the DLA Land and Maritime Operations Center Aug. 29.

Frocking often precedes a formal promotion, granting an individual the authorities of a higher rank commensurate with the responsibilities already placed on their shoulders.

As chief of staff, Constantine serves as a principal advisor to the commander and deputy commander on operations and readiness of DLA Land and Maritime supply chains delivering repair parts to all military services.

Constantine's sister, Space Force Lt. Col. Ellie Constantine-Barredo, was on hand to pin his new rank and DLA Land and Maritime Commander Army Brig. Gen. Gail Atkins gave the oath of office.

Constantine joined DLA Land and Maritime in July. He previously served as the Milestone C lead Program Manager for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center's Sentinel Systems Directorate at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
