Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing - Louise Street and Long Beach Boulevard: On Aug. 12, 2024 at approximately 6:58 p.m., officers responded to Louise Street and Long Beach Boulevard regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was in a dispute with a male adult suspect, which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
Great work officers! Last night officers safely took a gun off the streets.
  • On Aug. 12, 2024 at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a dispute where a firearm was brandished in the 3400 block of Hathaway Avenue. During their investigation, officers served a search warrant and recovered a firearm. The suspect was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
