Student Newspaper, the Clock, Honored

2024 Quill & Ink Award at the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications First Amendment Award Celebration

PSU's student-run newspaper, the Clock, received the 2024 Quill & Ink Award at the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications First Amendment Award Celebration on October 24, 2024. The Clock was honored for its commitment to transparency and accountability, underscoring the essential role of student journalism in fostering an informed campus.

The Clock is the first college or university organization to receive the prestigious award.

The Quill & Ink Award is not given annually but reserved to honor significant contributions to the education of Granite Staters about the First Amendment of the US Constitution. The Loeb School emphasizes journalism studies and offers classes, workshops, and the First Amendment Forum.

Editor-in-Chief Kay Bailey '25, a political science major from Lewiston, ME; former Editor-in-Chief Jacob Downey '24, interdisciplinary studies major from Boston, MA; and News Editor James Kelly '26, political science major from Concord, NH, along with 2023 advisors Jason Charrette and John Christ, accepted the award on behalf of the Clock.
