Independence Day Holiday Service Changes: Trash, Yard Waste, Recycling Collection and More

The City of Frederick offices will be closed to observe Independence Day on Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, 2024. Some service schedules will change.

Trash Collection

Residential:

• There will be no trash collection service on Thursday, July 4, 2024
• If you normally set out your household trash on Wednesday evening for Thursday collection, please set your trash out on Thursday evening for Friday collection.
• Do not set yard waste out for collection.
• All other trash routes are as scheduled.

Yard Waste Collection

Residential:

• There will be no yard waste collection for Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) 8 on Thursday, July 4, 2024. NAC 8 yard waste collection will resume regular schedule on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Business District:

• Commercial Downtown Business trash will be collected on the normal schedule.

Recycling

Parking

No payment is required at City garages and meters on July 4, 2024.

Housing and Human Services

The Department of Housing & Human Services will be closed on Thursday, July 4th & Friday, July 5th, 2024. The Community Table will be open per its normal schedule. The Food Banks will be closed.

Recreation

The William R. Talley Recreation Center will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, and will be open during regular business hours on Friday, July 5, 2024.
