Mayor Yemi seeks to fill board seats on Community Development Advisory Committee

Mayor Yemi Mobolade is seeking applicants to fill three seats on the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC), one regular member and two alternates.

The committee advises on policy, planning and priority funding areas for the Housing and Community Vitality Department, which manages the City's investment of federal block grant funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and related programs. High priority funding areas typically include homeless facilities and services, affordable housing, and neighborhood/community investments in areas such as Southeast Colorado Springs or the Mill Street neighborhood.

The Housing and Community Vitality Department is looking for broad representation from across the city and volunteers with subject matter expertise on a range of topics, including mental/behavioral health, addiction, housing finance, marginalized and/or underserved populations. There will be opportunities to learn as well as opportunities to help inform the upcoming 2025 Action Plan and Five-Year 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan.

The committee meets six to eight times annually, typically the second Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. Please submit applications no later than 5 p.m., Friday, August 9th at https://coloradosprings.gov/cdac
