BOROUGH PRESIDENT GIBSON, THE BRONX’S LGBTQIA+ TASK FORCE, AND ALLIES WALK IN 2024 NYC PRIDE MARCH

Bronx, NY - On June 30^th, 2024, Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson was joined by her Bronx LGBTQIA+ Task Force, Destination Tomorrow, and other groups in the Annual New York City Pride Parade. Borough President Gibson greeted spectators while on the route that began at 25^th and 5^th Avenue before turning west onto 8^th Street towards Christopher Street in front of the Stonewall Monument commemorating the anniversary of the June 28^th, 1969, Stonewall Uprising that was marked by violent confrontations with the police that lasted for six days, touching off a new level of activism that spread nationwide. Marchers then headed north on 7th Avenue to pass the New York City AIDS Memorial, before ending at 16th Street.
