​Whitestown Road Closure to Begin September 4 as Route 68 Corridor Improvement Project Continues to Move Forward

Indiana, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today the closure of Whitestown Road for the continuation of a corridor improvement project on Route 68 in Butler and Connoquenessing Townships in Butler County.

September 4 through 14, 2024 Whitestown Road will be closed. The closure will be at the intersection with Route 68 toward Meridian Road to allow for the reconstruction and widening of Whitestown Road. Traffic will follow the posted detour route which will uses Route 68 and Meridian Road.

This three-year project includes signal replacements, turn lane installation and corridor improvements to enhance safety and reduce congestion along PA 68.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA is the contractor for this $18.7 million project which is estimated to be completed in November 2025.
