A suspect was arrested and multiple guns were seized following a non-injury shooting in the Old Town Neighborhood.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 10:14 p.m., Portland Police Officers from Central Precinct Patrol and Entertainment Detail responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Northwest 5th Avenue and Northwest Everett Street.

When they arrived they found a vehicle crashed at that intersection and learned that multiple occupants had just fled the scene. Officers quickly fanned out to attempt to locate the potential suspects. An officer spotted someone matching the description of someone who may have been involved, and detained Christopher Jude Weber, AKA Christopher Jude McClain, 37, several blocks away at Northwest 1st Avenue and Northwest Davis Street.

Officers also located multiple firearms at the scene of the crash. They were seized as evidence (photos).

Weber was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place (city code), Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Giving False Information to a Peace Officer, and a warrant.

The shooting remains under investigation, and investigators believe some people who were involved and/or witnessed the shooting left the scene without speaking to police. If anyone has information about this case, please e-mail [email protected] attn:ECST and reference case number 24-310393.
