On the final day of AIDS 2024, Kaye Hayes, HHS Deputy Assistant Secretary for Infectious Disease and Director of the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy, and Francisco Ruiz, Director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy, shared highlights and their takeaways from the conference with Caroline Talev, Executive Director of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. Kaye and Francisco said some of their favorite moments during the conference were in the Global Village and Exhibit Hall spending time with community partners, which exemplified the conference theme "Putting People First." They plan to take back best practices and continue to ensure that public health has a whole-person approach with community members involved in conversations.

The International AIDS ConferenceExit Disclaimeris the world's largest conference on HIV and AIDS. Held July 22-26 in Munich, Germany, AIDS 2024 brought together in person and virtually an estimated 15,000 scientists, policymakers, healthcare professionals, people living with HIV, and others at the intersection of science, advocacy, and human rights. The conference featured more than 200 sessions, including plenaries, symposia, oral abstracts, workshops, Global Village activities, pre-conferences, and satellites.
