Low Carbon Business Action in Canada Phase II Launched Successfully

VANCOUVER/BRUSSELS - The second phase of the EU-funded Low Carbon and Circular Economy Business Action in Canada (LCBA Canada) was launched with great success on September 12, 2024. The multi-location event, held in Brussels, Vancouver, and online, marked a significant step forward in advancing low carbon and circular economy initiatives.

The Phase II Launch Event celebrated the notable achievements of the project's first phase, recognized outstanding partnerships through an award ceremony, and outlined new goals and opportunities for the next phase. The event featured a compelling mix of thought-provoking panel discussions, networking opportunities, and presentations from award-winning companies.

Mr. Michel Delanaye, CEO from MITITs, an LCBA SEAL Awardee working to produce high efficiency energy converters, emphasized that "the support of LCBA Canada was key to help MITIS expand their business to the Canadian market."

A highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by H.E. Genevieve Tuts, the European Union Ambassador-designate to Canada. The Ambassador's inspiring speech highlighted the crucial role of international collaboration in advancing the LCBA Canada project's objectives and reinforced the European Union's commitment to fostering innovative solutions and sustainable business practices.

In her address, H.E. Genevieve Tuts, stated that "the LCBA Canada represents a new way of putting policy into action", and she invited all the participants "to make the most of these partnership opportunities and to explore the chances to develop connections between Canadian and EU businesses."

Building on this momentum, Mr. Jose Canjura, LCBA Canada Team Leader, encouraged the audience to "expect updates and news from LCBA Canada very soon, including new market opportunities for collaboration and more networking, matchmaking events and activities".

"The LCBA Seal is the acknowledgment of the achievements between EU and Canadian Companies. Today we are celebrating together very inspiring stories and partnerships, but we are also celebrating the new phase where we have the ambition to do more than on phase one", said Mr. Mario Mariani, Head of FPI Regional Team - Americas.

The Phase II Launch Event proved to be a significant milestone, bringing together stakeholders from both sides of Atlantic to advance the shared goal of a low carbon and circular economy. With insightful discussions, inspiring presentations, and valuable networking opportunities, the event set a strong foundation for the continued success and impact of the LCBA Canada project in the coming years.
