Bronx and Los Angeles Chambers of Commerce Enter Friendly Non-Wagering Agreement for World Series

by L.A. Area Chamber

Bronx, NY & Los Angeles, CA - October 28, 2024 - In a spirit of camaraderie and mutual respect, the Bronx Chamber of Commerce and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce have officially announced a friendly non-wagering agreement centered around the World Series between their respective chamber members, the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As part of this light-hearted agreement, executives from the losing city's chamber will wear shirts professing their love for the winning city- such as "I Love New York" or "I Love Los Angeles"- along with some identifiable Chamber promotional items, such as a pin or other item, for five consecutive days from November 4th through November 8th following the conclusion of the series. Each day, photos will be shared on social media, featuring chamber executives in their shirts alongside a newspaper displaying the date, showcasing the playful spirit of this friendly competition.

"We are thrilled to engage in this fun and unique exchange with our colleagues in the Bronx," stated Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. "This agreement reflects our shared commitment to supporting local businesses, celebrating our sports teams, and fostering a business-friendly environment in our respective cities."

"Our teams may compete on the field, but the bond between our cities is stronger than any rivalry," said Lisa Sorin, President of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce."This initiative highlights the economic impact that sports teams have on local businesses, especially when they excel, and serves as a reminder of the vibrant connections between our communities."

Both chambers are committed to promoting the positive influence of sports on local economies. Successful teams not only uplift community spirit but also drive business growth, tourism, and job creation.

As the World Series begins, both chambers encourage their respective communities to come together, support their teams, and celebrate the shared values that unite the Bronx and Los Angeles.
