​Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road) is scheduled to close beginning Tuesday, September 3, between McClelland Road and Hawthorn Road in Buffalo Township, Washington County.

A posted detour will be in place using:

• Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road)
• Route 40 (Chestnut Street Extension)
• Route 221 (South Bridge Road)
• Route 3009 (Cracraft Road)

Washington County maintenance department bridge crew will be replacing the structure that carries Route 3009 over Buffalo Creek with a precast concrete box culvert. Work includes approach roadway widening, paving, and guiderail replacement - a $600K infrastructure investment.

The closure is anticipated through mid-November depending on weather and operations.
