County Government Pushing to Fill Dozens of Jobs

During a time when many professional fields are announcing layoffs and furloughs, St. Charles County Government is looking to fill dozens of positions at all skill levels.

The public is invited to attend a Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County, 3757 Harry S Truman Blvd. in St. Charles.

"We have a wide range of openings from entry-level up to leadership positions," says Paul Hunt, Assistant Director of Human Resources. "It's a job where you can find a place for yourself and feel like you're making a difference. It's public service."

Corrections officers are one of the County's biggest needs, but other jobs include 911 dispatchers, street maintenance workers, office clerks, park staff, grounds maintenance workers, and more.

St. Charles offers excellent benefits compared to the private sector. In addition to health care, the County provides a retirement package that includes pension and employer-funded investment contributions. There's also tuition reimbursement for continued education.

On-site job applications, info on open positions, and in-person visits with teams that are hiring are all available at the Job Fair - but job seekers don't have to wait for Oct. 2 to see what's available. The County's open positions can be viewed and applied for at sccmo.org/Jobs.
