Preventative Maintenance Work on Outdoor Warning Sirens

Preventative maintenance of outdoor warning sirens within Bismarck will be conducted throughout Monday and Tuesday September 23 and 24. As part of the preventative maintenance activity, individual sirens will be sounded briefly (about 10 seconds) and will not reach full volume. Although the tone of single siren may be heard if you happen to be nearby during the "quiet test" of a specific siren, there is no emergency or cause for concern. If there were an emergency, and a need to activate the sirens, all sirens would be sounded simultaneously for a period of 3 minutes, similar to the monthly test.

If you have any questions, please contact Gary Stockert with Emergency Management at 701-355-1314 or email [email protected]. For more information on the outdoor warning system, see the outdoor warning sirens web page.
