Six Danieli Zerobucket EAFs started up in China in the last two months

They all feature original, continuous scrap charging, ensuring low-carbon emissions and energy savings, and Q-Reg

The Zerobucket EAF installations of Qiananshi Jiujiang (two units), Zhejiang Yuxin, Heyuan Derun, Baoshan I&S, and Baosteel Xinyu have been started-up during the last two months by Danieli China. Additionally, the Zerobucket EAF of Hebei Puyang is in cold-test phase, and it will be also in operation soon.

These electric-arc furnaces have capacities ranging from 210 to 330 tph.

Danieli Zerobucket EAFs are the most flexible melting units, allowing a wide range of charge mixes such as hot metal, DRI, HBI and scrap.

They can work with up to 80% of hot-metal charge replacing BOF converters and obtaining outstanding results in terms of short tap-to-tap time, boosting the overall steelmaking plant productivity.

The seven furnaces are managed by Danieli Automation systems, including advanced electrode regulator Q-Reg with melting profile optimization. Danieli process control systems facilitate furnace startups and enable quick performance achievements.

The two Zerobucket EAFs just started at Qiananshi Jiujiang are part of a package order of four units from the customer.

The Zhejiang Yuxin installation features the first Danieli-patented Tornado scrap conveyor system with variable cross-section that allows the best pre-heating results with different scrap types available from the market.

Danieli received 29 Zerobucket EAF orders from China since 2018, 19 of which are in operation -for a market share of more than 70% of projects carried out by main technology suppliers.
