BSNC Movers and Shakers

BSNC is pleased to announce a series of promotions its shareholder-employees have recently earned. BSNC congratulates Chugie Folk, Malorie Lomer, Justin Maxwell, Dana McMillan and Geraldine Ongtowasruk on their promotions in their respective departments.

Chugie Folk

BSNC is pleased to announce the promotion of shareholder employee Chugie Folk to Senior Accounting Manager. In her new role, Folk will oversee BSNC's holding accounts, produce financials for BSNC subsidiaries and report to the Defense Contracting Audit Agency and the Small Business Administration. Folk started at BSNCmore than 25 years ago as an Accounts Receivable Clerk and worked her way up. Folk enjoys working at BSNC because of her colleagues and the friendships she's made along the way.

In her free time, Folk loves fishing and gathering subsistence foods to share with others. She also enjoys going on walks, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She is the daughter of the late Stan and Valerie Sobocienski and the granddaughter of the late Helen Castel Stuart, as well as Milton and Mary Adams.

Malorie Johnson

BSNC is pleased to announce the promotion of shareholder Malorie Lomer to Senior Human Resources Manager. With eight years of invaluable experience in Human Resources at BSNC, Lomer has consistently demonstrated her dedication and expertise in her field. In her new role, she will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all HR activities across BSNC and its subsidiaries. This includes providing leadership and hands-on support to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of daily HR functions and transactions. Lomer's position will also focus heavily on HRIS technology, including system implementation, configuration and ongoing updates. She values the growth and mission of BSNC, highlighting the vital role of the HR department in supporting employees and managers across the organization and subsidiaries.

Lomer is the youngest daughter of Merlin and Velma Johnson of Unalakleet. Her paternal grandparents are the late Harry and Ruth Johnson, and her maternal grandparents are the late Elmer and Ruth Kotogan. Her Inupiaq name is Malgui, and her English name, Malorie, comes from her great grandma on her dad's side. Her other Inupiaq, Baayin, is from her great grandma on her mom's side. Lomer enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, berry picking, and spending quality time with her family. She lives in Wasilla with her husband Ezekiel, children Nathaniel and Dawn, and their dogs.

Justin Maxwell

BSNC announces the promotion of shareholder Justin Maxwell to the position of Payroll Specialist II. In his new role, Maxwell will be responsible for the timely processing and payments of employees' pay, processing state/federal/local taxes across many subsidiaries and states, timesheet reclasses and verification of employments. Maxwell earned a Bachelor of Business in management with a minor in accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage in May of 2024.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys fishing in the summer and is actively involved in hockey, with aspirations of coaching a youth team in Anchorage in the winter of 2024. Maxwell appreciates the care BSNC has for its shareholders and the growth opportunities presented. Maxwell is the son of Ricky and Brenda Maxwell of Anchorage, grandson of Lillian Tiulana (King Island) and Gladys Okboak (Teller) and great-grandson of Paul and Clara Tiulana of King Island, Myrtle Ivanoff of Unalakleet, Clara Okleasik of Mary's Igloo and Samuel Okboak of Wales.

Dana McMillan

BSNC congratulates shareholder Dana McMillin on her promotion to Shareholder Recruiter. As Shareholder Recruiter, McMillin aims to implement new procedures that emphasize the importance of BSNC's Shareholder Hire Preference Policy. Additionally, she is committed to developing a Cultural Employee Orientation Program, ensuring all employees understand the significance of BSNC's culture, history, and mission.

McMillin deeply values the unparalleled support and opportunities provided by BSNC and looks forward to continuing to contribute to the company's success in her new role. Outside of work, McMillin enjoys spending quality time with her family, with plans to explore more of Alaska off-grid style.

Geraldine Ongtowasruk

BSNC congratulates shareholder Geraldine Ongtowasruk on her promotion to the position of Billing Specialist II. In her role, Ongtowasruk will be responsible for processing invoices for designated companies. She joined BSNC in June of 2021. Prior to BSNC, Ongtowasruk worked as a Billing Specialist for Norton Sound Health Corporation in Nome for eight years, where she gained valuable experience. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.

Ongtowasruk is also a shareholder of Wales Native Corporation and enrolled in the Native Village of Wales. She was born in Washington state and was raised in Wales. Her mother was Vivien (Oxereok) Olin, and her father was James Olin originally from Washington state, who served in the United States Navy. She was married to her late husband, Ronald Ongtowasruk, for almost 26 years. They had seven children together: James, Tamara, Cheryl, Amber (stillborn), Shannon and Tiffany.
