Celebrate the Completion of the Crawford Park Pickleball Courts

Woodlanders are invited celebrate completion of the William Crawford Senior Park Court Restoration Project the morning of Tuesday, July 9. The event will begin at 9 AM to avoid high afternoon temperatures and will include a short program and refreshments.

Plans for the project started in 2022. Construction began in early April 2024 and consisted of demolishing the old tennis courts, lights, and fencing followed by construction of six dedicated pickleball courts. The new courts consist of poles for permanent pickleball nets, new chain link fencing to surround the courts, four-foot fencing to divide each court, and new energy-efficient lighting for nighttime play.

The courts at Crawford Park are the first courts exclusively for pickleball in Woodland. Pickleball can also be played at the multiuse courts at Beamer Park, Spring Lake Park, and Rick Gonzales Senior Park. Nets must be brought to these parks to play.
