State Police arrest Florida man for illegally possessing weapons

On November 20, 2024, State Police of Saratoga arrested Rolando M. Perez-Ruiz, 33, of Odessa, FL, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, five counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree.

On November 20, 2024, at about 12:15 p.m., Troopers responded to the Naval Nuclear Laboratory at the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site in Milton, NY, for the reports of weapons found in an individual's vehicle. The investigation determined that Perez-Ruiz allegedly illegally possessed multiple guns, gun parts, illegal high-capacity magazines, and ammunition in his vehicle while on the property. Perez-Ruiz was at the facility to pick up a delivery and works for a private transportation company. He was permitted to be there and did not threaten or display any weapon. The weapons were discovered during a routine security inspection, as firearms are not allowed in the secured facility.

Perez-Ruiz was arrested at the scene and transported to SP Saratoga for processing. He was arraigned in the Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash, a $50,000 bond, or a $250,000 partially secured bond.
