Tompkins County Informing Residents of Security Change at Department of Social Services

This week the Tompkins County Department of Social Services will be installing an x-ray scanning feature to the existing security screening procedure in the lobby of the Human Services Building (320 W Martin Luther King/State St.
Ithaca).

Building entrants will step through an existing weapons detection system and pass their bags and other belongings necessary for their appointment through the x-ray machine. There continue to be lockers outside the buildings for use by visitors and clients. Security personnel will continue to be present at the building entrance to guide visitors.

Security procedures are in place to ensure a safe environment for building visitors and staff. Questions or concerns regarding security procedures should be directed to security personnel at the Human Services Building.
