Woman Arrested for Assault in Chinatown International District

Seattle Police arrested a woman for assault in the Chinatown International District Thursday evening.

On July 4th at 6:09 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a person possibly stabbed and actively bleeding in the 1000 block of South Jackson Street.

Officers arrived and located a woman, 51, suffering from head injuries. She was treated by the Seattle Fire Department and transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

Police determined that a 4th-of-July celebration with friends turned into a physical altercation between two women when the suspect struck the victim over the head multiple times with a metal water bottle.

Multiple suspects were detained inside the residence where the incident occurred. After investigating, a 45-year-old woman was arrested.

She was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.

A boxcutter knife was recovered from the scene, as well as two aluminum water bottles. They were seized as evidence.

There were reports of possible gun being used in the assault. Officers served a search warrant on the residence, yet no gun was located.

Detectives with the Homicide & Assault Unit have been assigned this case. This is a preliminary investigation and is subject to change.
